After nearly two years of work, our Eiffage Construction teams in Alsace have just delivered the Strasbourg municipal thermal baths, a remarkable structure classified as a historic monument, to the SPL Deux-Rives (Société Publique Locale Deux-Rives). This Global Public Performance Contract consisted of the design and execution of restructuring work on this installation, followed by its technical maintenance and upkeep for a period of fifteen years. Inaugurated at the beginning of November with all our partners, the place has been open to the public since November 8.
The establishment offers:
– An indoor and outdoor aquatic area,
– A well-being offer including the Roman thermal baths,
– A cool garden,
– A space dedicated to sport and health and a nutrition workshop.
In order to respect the listed historic structure, the choice of materials and techniques has been pre-established: our teams have put all their know-how and expertise to adapt to these requirements. 180 workers were on site during peak hours, and more than 8,000 hours of integration were carried out!
The renovation of the municipal thermal baths in Strasbourg aimed to improve the environmental performance of the installation, the building and also the operation of the swimming pools, which used to consume a lot of water and energy. Thermal and electrical energy consumption has been reduced by 41%, while water consumption has been reduced by 82%, from around 850 liters of water per bather to 150, thanks to adapted renewal rates and optimized emptying to reduce the volume of water consumed.
In addition, the City of Strasbourg has heating networks whose development, associated with new equipment and development projects, allows better control of atmospheric pollution with reduced consumption of non-renewable energy. The district heating network will provide heat for the project.
In terms of the circular economy, the teams have had the permanent reflex to keep everything that could be: joinery, tiling, earthenware, lighting⦠all these measures make this operation part of our ambitious environmental approach.
From now on, all citizens of Strasbourg, Alsace, even France and the world will be able to go to this magnificent establishment to take the plunge!
Congratulations to the teams and thank you to all our partners for this great delivery:
