LEXINGTON, NC (WGHP) — Washing a dog is getting messy.
They usually shake the water off their bodies as you rinse them. Some may try to run away wet, and many of them shed when you rub them.
Fetch Dog Wash doesn’t care about any of that. We first stopped by the business in June 2020.
It had just started when the COVID-19 lockdown forced the business to close.
In early March 2022, Katherine Peters reopened Fetch on West Center Street in Lexington.
“It’s a gorgeous place. You can come wash your dog, hang out with him and learn about him and go out and look at some really cute things too,” Peters said.
The business combines Peters’ love of dogs and retail.
“We have martingale collars, bandanas, collars, leashes. We have a few random clothes and trinkets here,” Peters said.
Here’s how Fetch works:
You bring your dog, choose the bath you want for your four-legged friend, then you shampoo, condition and dry your dog.
The price you pay gets you all the supplies you need.
“Washing your dog is no small feat, so I like being the go-to person to help people do that while we clean,” Peters said.
In addition to keeping your home clean, Peters also wants to create a community place where you can stop when you’re in the neighborhood.
“Even if you don’t buy anything, even if you don’t use the tubs, come out and look at everything and say ‘hey’ and let us meet your dog. We love dogs,” Peters said.
