WWE star Amanda Rose Saccomanno (aka Mandy Rose) isn’t just an athlete, she’s an artist. As a professional wrestler, Rose basically trains for a living and her amazingly toned physique is proof of her hard work. Rose posted a photo of herself on Instagram posing in a green swimsuit, with the caption “Hanging on to that summery feel… @harrylhgfx @kl_swimwear.” How does she stay in shape? Like most professional athletes, Rose is careful with her diet, following a mostly high-protein diet. But she refuses to be obsessed with it. “Overall, I try to be consistent” she tells Muscle and Fitness. “But sometimes you just have to eat what’s available. I’m blessed with good genes. And life is all about balance… If I want to eat cheese or a donut, I do not care. I’ve built a lot of muscle mass over the years, so I make sure I get enough protein. But I also like carbs.”

Here’s Rose’s HIIT workout, as told at Bodybuilding and fitness:

Heavy Squat: 4 sets, 8-10 reps

Battle Ropes: 4 sets, 30 second reps

Pullup Burpee: 4 sets, 10-12 reps

Boxing: 4 sets, 30 second reps

Med Ball Pushup: 4 sets, 12-15 reps

Rower: 4 sets, 30 second reps on/off

“While aerobic exercise is a great tool for maintaining your heart health, when it comes to weight loss tactics, steady state running isn’t the best calorie burner,” says Julia Sullivan, CPT. “And while strength training is generally the most reliable weight loss tactic when it comes to fitness type (remember though that weight loss is achieved through a calorie deficit, which is most easily achieved through diet), if there is one form of cardio that blasts calories, it’s HIIT.”

“I usually train five or six days a week, depending on my schedule, with each workout lasting around an hour and a half,” Rose says. “Right now I’m doing a bit more cardio because I tend to eat more with a crazy schedule – I can’t diet as much as I used to. Cardio is a good way for me to m warming up and almost acts like therapy for me.”

“Recovery is very important with how much we train,” Rose says. “For me, rest is number 1, because I need my seven to eight hours of sleep each night. And whenever I can do body work, like a massage or a chiropractor session, I do it. .”

“When starting a new fitness regimen, we are often told that it is important to take ‘rest days’ between workouts,” says Derek Ball, Head of Sports Science, University of Aberdeen. “The reason many recommend rest days is to allow the muscles of the body to recover from any damage suffered during workouts and allow them to grow. And many scientific studies show that rest days do indeed play a role. an important role in helping us maintain good health and fitness.”
