Mikel Arteta is said to be ‘angry’ at Arsenal’s indecisiveness in the transfer market as the club seek to make their first signing this summer.

After the disappointment of seeing Spurs lift them to fourth place last month, Arteta is looking for a lift in the transfer market. And after identifying Man City striker Gabriel Jesus as a key forward months ago, the Gunners boss is said to be ‘frustrated’.

The Daily mail claim that Arteta is far from happy with the club and the way they conduct their summer business.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang long gone and Alexandre Lacazette now gone, Arteta needs attacking reinforcements.

And Arteta has targeted Brazil star Jesus after it emerged City would listen to offers for the striker. However, that was almost two months ago, but their progress on any deal has been minimal.

Technical director Edu first approached Jesus in November. The Arsenal the chief has a close relationship with striker and player’s agent Marcelo Pettinati

The Gunners were quick to show interest but have yet to accept City’s £50million asking price. And they failed to engage in discussions on personal terms.

Jesus is out of contract in 2023 and Arsenal are reluctant to pay the asking price for a player, who could leave for free next summer.

The Arsenal hierarchy “insists that all major transactions must be approved by American ownership”. And that left Arteta in limbo for any deal.

It is this bureaucracy that is delaying any progress in the Jesus case.

Man City have the dilemma of Gabriel Jesus

And with the club deliberating on a deal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid have joined the race. And it raised fears in Arteta that Arsenal could miss the 25-year-old.

Meanwhile, Football.London have also suggested that Man City be dragging their heels on a deal after reaching a deal for Erling Haaland.

But Haaland has yet to be officially revealed. And City are keen to avoid stripping Jesus of his No.9 shirt in order to hand it to the Norwegian.

City do not want to upset the dressing room by eliminating Jesus from their favorite number 9. Instead, City are waiting for Jesus to leave, so they can hand over his vacant number to the Borussia Dortmund striker.
